Description: Contrasting black and white trunks of these
Quaking Aspen and the rich, golden grass form a pattern of simple
beauty on a late October afternoon. This grove is located in
the Dixie National Forest of Southwestern Utah and is from a
single root system, which can cover many acres. In Utah and many
other areas of the United States, Aspen groves have been in decline.
Ongoing studies are being conducted to discover why these groves
are declining and what can be done to help reverse this trend.
