The white sands turn a little yellowish when wet. The dark silhouette of the single plant casts a long afternoon shadow that lends a contrasting element to the simple and minimalist composition.   Carlos L. Esguerra lives in Elmhurst, Queens, New York City. In the short period of four years doing landscape/cityscape photography, he has already had two solo shows, received several national and international awards, and his photographs have been selected for numerous juried exhibitions. His works have been published in Hasselblad's Forum magazine (4/2002), Photo Life in Canada (March 2003), and Shutterbug (December 2002). He was Manhattan Arts International's 'Artist of the Month' in May 2003. Hasselblad's Forum magazine said, "his love of color is evident in his images."
