Location: Merzouga, Morocco
Description: Between February and May 2002, I traveled
to Thailand, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India and Morocco photographing
daily life and e-mailing photos and stories back to a newspaper
in Vermont for publication.
- I was riding on a camel during
an overnight trek into the Sahara Desert in Merzouga, Morocco.
At sunset I saw this group of visitors walking up a dune for
a view of the desert. For me, the image represents the power
of the natural world and our responsibility to respect our environment.

adding Delhi, India as winter base starting in 2004. He has been
published in Conde Nast Traveler, Vermont Life, Yankee, the Boston
